Ahead of the 2023 holiday season, Cavill & Wicks founders Heather & Charlie Cavill were looking to boost awareness, generate excitement and increase brand exposure leading up to their busiest season of the year.
The Vancouver-based candle company was founded in 2020 after the couple set out to create products that are non-toxic, sustainable and safe for pets, children and those sensitive to irritants. The luxurious products are natural, hand blended, soft and slow-burning coconut wax and provide maximum hot and cold scent along with long-lasting burn times.
To help spread the word about their brand, Cavil & Wicks partnered with kin to support them in reaching their holiday goals through a seasonally focused media relations and influencer engagement campaign.
- Implemented a media outreach plan, targeting local and national media outlets for gift guides and other seasonal-focused editorial content.
- Sent a curated PR package with a variety of product samples to select media and influencers, including a handwritten note from the founder to introduce the brand to them and build genuine relationships.
- To build awareness about the brand ahead of the holidays, sent product to 25+ on-brand lifestyle influencers across Canada and the US providing them a chance to try the product and offering a 15% off promo code for their audiences.
- Positioned Cavill & Wicks as a luxurious, natural and allergen friendly brand that’s family owned and operated.
- Generated media coverage in Hello!Canada, National Post, Chatelaine, Elle Canada, Style at Home and VITA and organic influencer shares from @fraicheliving (264k), @ambervscott (449k), @thishouse5000 (643k), @zaraynaf (281k), @bvintagestyle (148k), and @thiswildheart (98k).
