As we say goodbye to summer and embrace fall, it’s the perfect time to reflect on a wonderful third quarter here at kin. We celebrated birthdays, welcomed new clients, reconnected with long-time clients, and achieved impressive media coverage and results.
Q2 has delivered some exciting campaigns, media coverage, and achievements, like welcoming new clients Friday Harbour, Tourism Nanaimo, Botanica Tulip Festival, Pokerrito and Global Vintners Inc., leading successful events for Tourism Nanaimo and Botanica Tulip Festival, and wrapping up one of the most successful Home Show seasons to date! We’re excited to share our journey and successes with you and highlight some hidden gems you might not have seen over the last 3 months.
During the first quarter of 2024 we celebrated beginnings. We welcomed a new team member, settled into a fresh office space, and had many standout moments along the way. Before we dive head first into the next season, we took some time to look back and reflect on what we’ve been up to at kin. It’s safe to say we started the year off with a bang!
As the year comes to a close, our team likes to take the time to reflect on all of our accomplishments from the last 12 months. This has become a wonderful way to celebrate our wins and take a moment to acknowledge all of the hard work everyone has contributed.
Just like that, October has come to a close! It was another productive month for kin and with November upon us, we’re one step closer to the start of the holidays and a busy one it will be! Let’s take a look back at everything we did in October.
It’s officially Pumpkin Spice season but that doesn’t mean that the bustle that summer brought has slowed here at kin. From industry happenings, to travel, to client events, September has kept our team busy!
From events to welcoming new clients, August was a great month full of media hits, and successful campaigns. Our team enjoyed the last final month of summer by going to concerts, events and of course enjoying a beer or two from Superflux Beer.
From media coverage to presenting strategic plans for ongoing clients, this month was filled with brainstorms, public relations plans and a couple of glasses of Sandhill’s Rosé.

On a crisp sunny afternoon, a few members of our team headed to Vancouver Island where we were off to visit our client Wildflower Mercantile in Courtenay, BC.
When we were in the throes of working on our rebrand, one of the exercises we did with the entire team was to write our values on post-its. Surprisingly, or maybe not, the word ‘kindness’ came up more than once. It was one of the words we all immediately agreed on with zero debate over whether or not there was a ‘better’ or more accurate word. Kindness is essential to who we are, both as individuals and as a brand.
On a perfect summer day our team headed to the incredible Niagara-on-the-Lake where we sipped wine, captured content, and explored the beautiful experience our clients Trius Winery and Peller Estates have to offer. Talk about a work trip!
