On a crisp sunny afternoon, a few members of our team headed to Vancouver Island where we were off to visit our client Wildflower Mercantile in Courtenay, BC. This curated home decor and design store features homewares, fresh flowers, children’s toys, hand-printed wallpaper, and much more. The beautifully designed shop features a 6ft indoor dollhouse, Sunday workshops, and they will soon offer tea, coffee and kombucha on tap for an engaging and unique shopping experience.
We arrived at Tigh-na-mara Resort, just a short drive from Departure Bay, and checked into a beautiful oceanview suite with a stunning view. Tigh-na-mara is a great stopping point before heading to Tofino or driving up the island. We finished the day with a glass of Good Natured Chardonnay and then headed to Cedar’s Restaurant for dinner where we enjoyed delicious cocktails and even better food.
The next morning we woke up early and started our journey up to Courtenay. When we arrived at Wildflower Mercantile, we were greeted by our client Emily Yewchuk who toured us around the store and showed us all the curated goodies she has available. Before leaving we did some shopping of our own, picking up the Everlasting Candles with the Pampas Vase and a few holiday candles. If you’re located on the island or planning your next visit we highly recommend stopping in or booking one of their community-run workshops which features floral designers, cookie decoration, musicians, photographers, potters, and more with all the profits from the workshops going back into their Wildflower Kids Scholarship Program.
Next, we were on a mission to find lunch and we came across this delicious soup and sandwich restaurant downtown Courtenay, The Yellow Deli. We couldn’t leave without stopping at the famous Bigfoot Donuts shop where we picked up treats for the drive home and coffees to warm us up. Then we were off to start our journey back to Nanaimo which is just a short one-hour drive then hopped on the ferry back to Vancouver. Whether you’re needing a housewarming gift, something for yourself or just to be inspired, we recommended checking out Wildflower Mercantile for shipping across Canada and following them on Instagram @wildflower_mercantile.
